The hour and ½ hour are struck on a mellow cathedral gong. CHIME CLOCK No. 56 Circa 1925 Seth Thomas Clock Co. Thomaston, Connecticut Catalog No. AS052.4  Additional Pictures  Movement:  An original, Seth Thomas Trade Marked, 8-day Time, Strike and Chime movement. The movement model number 124 is the Seth Thomas work horse movement and is found in many different case styles. Westminster chime sequence is played on a set of four tuned rods. Following the hour chime sequence, it announces the hour on a single chime rod. The #124 movement has a rack and snail strike train, which keeps the time and strike features coordinated as long as the clock is kept wound. It is also fitted with an automatic time/strike/chime correction feature which resets the chime sequence should it get out of sync when the clock runs down or the time is reset. "DICKORY DICKORY DOCK" Reproduction, Circa: 1960 The Horolovar Company Bronxville, New York Catalog No. AS011.1  Additional Pictures  Movement: It is a single train, 8-day, spring-driven movement that is controlled by a platform escapement. One plate is stamped “four (4) jewels/ unadjusted/ The Horolovar Co./ Bronxville, New York/ Made in Germany”. The single strike takes place when the mouse approaches the “1 o’clock” position and is suddenly released to fall to the bottom where it strikes a bell located inside the case. Case Style and Trim: A reasonable rendition of the original “Dickory Dickory Dock” clock presented with a dark mahogany colored finish. "BANJO", Normandy Chime Circa: 1929 Gilbert Clock Company Winsted Connecticut Catalog No. AS015  Additional Pictures Movement: An original, Gilbert Trade Marked, 8-day Time and Strike movement. Gilbert’s “Normandy Chime” or “Bim-Bam” (2-tone) striking movement is found in several different case styles. . The hour is struck in a 2-note series using two rods and the ½ hour is struck on a single rod. It has a rack and snail strike train, which keeps the time and strike features coordinated. It is also fitted with a "turn-back" time/strike setting feature. This feature allows the owner to correct the time and the hour struck whenever they get out of sync without the help of a clock smith. This was a 'modern' innovation in its day and is still greatly appreciated by today’s busy clock owner. "IGNATZ" or "The Flying Pendulum Clock" Reproduction, Circa: 1960 The Horolovar Company Bronxville, New York Catalog No. AS011.4  Additional Pictures This is a reproduction of an Original 1885 novelty clock by Jerome & Co. (Which became the New Haven Clock Company.) The original version is truly a rare find as relatively few of them were made. They were sold mainly to clock shop owners and jewelry store operators as an attention-getting device for their storefront window display. Hence, very few were sold to the general public. Recently, an original of this model sold at a very reputable auction house for $1,500.00. Now after only 40 years since its introduction, the reproduction "IGNATZ", complete with shipping box and papers, is also becoming a scarce, if not rare, heavily sought-after collector’s prize. Movement: A 30-hour, Time only, movement made in Germany for Horolovar Company. It is a ‘Novelty Clock’ and a notoriously poor timekeeper. "ANTLER" Circa: 1884 Ansonia Clock Company Brooklyne, New York, U.S.A. Catalog No. AS025 Additional Pictures Movement: 8-day Time & Strike, hour & ½ hour on a wire gong. Case Style and Trim: An attractive pressed-oak gingerbread Parlor Clock. The nicely patinaed finish appears to be the original. The uniformly aged face has a clearly visible trade mark. It has black Roman numerals, black hands and a 4 ¾ inch diameter chapter ring. The leaf/vine design on the door tablet is an authentic reproduction of the original tablet. The ornate nickel plated pendulum echoes the design on the tablet. It has a cast iron ‘Ansonia’ trade-marked gong base with the name in raised letters. "REGULATOR A"  Circa 1920 Aichi Tokei Denki K.K. Made in Japan by Aichi Clock Company  Catalog No. JW001  Additional Pictures Movement: An original, Trademarked, 8-day Time & Hour-Strike movement. The trademark for the face and the movement are the same. The count-wheel strike train is fitted with a time/strike correction rod located on the left side and can be accessed through the bottom door. Whenever the time/strike gets out of sync, this feature allows the owner to advance the strike until the time and hour struck agree, without the help of a clocksmith. This movement only strikes the hour on a coiled authoritative, yet mellow Gong Wire. The large, brass-clad pendulum bob is original. A replacement single-ended key is included. Case Style and Trim: This is a classic ‘drop’ style wall clock with its original dark mahogany finish in good condition. The case has been cleaned and polished. Not withstanding what it says on the door, this case more closely resembles Ansonia’s "Regulator C" than it does the "A" style. The large polished brass pendulum can be seen through the lower door—a great conversation starter. The original off-white, painted-metal face is trademarked with the logo of the Aichi Clock Company, which was founded as the Mizuno Clock Company in 1892 in Nagoya. The name was changed to Aichi. The trademark on the face is made up of a black circle, inside of which there is a shaded letter "C", superimposed over the "C" is a white letter "A". The chapter ring is 8 3/4-inches in diameter with black Arabic-numerals—all clearly legible. The original black spade-style hands are painted steel; they have been refinished. The round wooden bezel is made up of 8-sections, holds a round flat glass, and has a chrome-plated brass sash, which accents the chapter ring. The reverse-painted "REGULATOR A" on the glass in the door appears to be original and is in excellent condition. The original paper label is mounted on the backboard inside the clock. It gives the manufacturer’s information and instructions for operating the clock. It is printed in black letters on a gray paper, is written in English and is still in very good condition. The "Golden Hour" circa: 1964 The Jefferson Electric Company Bellwood, Illinois Catalog No. ASE010.2  Additional Pictures The Golden Hour first went into production on December 2, 1949. It was the first and most popular of all the clocks manufactured by the Jefferson Electric Company. This one has the words "patent pending" on the maroon colored plastic bottom cover, which identifies it as one manufactured early in the clocks history. Later models with the maroon bottom cover show a patent number (2,642,713) and on still later models the bottom cover is black and has no patent number. Movement: The clock is powered by a small electric motor located in the base. According to the information on the bottom cover it is "UL" listed, operates on 115 volts AC @ 60 cycles and has a power rating of 2.5 watts. Replacement motors are available and we usually have one in stock. The motor on this clock is new. All of the other moving parts have been cleaned and serviced in our shop. JEFFERSON GOLDEN MINUTE  circa 1958  (date stamped 1-28-58) The Jefferson Electric Company Bellwood, Illinois Catalog No. AS069  Additional Pictures In 1951, while still enjoying the great marketing success of both the "Golden Hour" and the "Golden Helm", The Jefferson Electric Co. introduced the smaller version of the Golden Hour and named it the "Golden Minute". The basic design of this model and the way it operates is essentially the same as the Golden Hour. And, at first look it appears to be just a smaller version of the Golden Hour. However, on close inspection one finds that it is nearly identical to its older cousin, the Golden Helm. For example, it is the same size, the same shape (minus the nautical motif) and uses the same type of motor; and, it has the same dark red or maroon-colored, plastic, almost triangular-shaped cover that closes the bottom of the Golden Helm. However, it is inscribed, Jefferson Golden Minute, Electric Clock, Catalog No. 580-121. Movement: The clock is powered by a small electric motor located in the base. According to the information on the bottom cover the motor is "UL" listed, operates on 115 volts AC @ 60 cycles and has a power rating of 2.5 watts. Replacements for this type of motor are very difficult to find. The fully functional motor in this clock is date stamped 11-74 indication that the original motor has been replaced. It still has its original power cord, which is in good condition. All of the other moving parts that make up this clock have been cleaned and serviced in our shop. Case Style and Trim: Like its larger, older relative, the Golden Hour and its close cousin, the Golden Helm, the Golden Minute is also often referred to as a ‘mystery clock’ because the hands seem to float in the center of the chapter ring with no apparent connection to any spring or motor. It has a 5 1/8-inch, brushed, silver-colored chapter ring with recessed, white-filled numbers. The body of the clock is a 2-piece alloy casting with 24-karat gold plating.
